Sharon Walker is a garden designer with a background in ornamental horticulture. Her love of nature has led her to a professional-life working with plants in greenhouse/nursery production, management, sales and design over the past decades.

Named for the Rose of Sharon, she has followed in her grandfather’s footsteps; he was both a farmer and horticulturalist. At a young age Sharon quickly became the family gardener, in high school began working at a nursery part-time, onto an Associate’s degree in Ornamental Horticulture and classes in Fine Arts.  She has worked with nurseries in sales, garden designs, and operated her own business ‘Native Walker,’ a small garden design and container garden company.

Sharon and her husband Ric, moved to the Hawai`i Island from the Rocky Mountain (high-desert) regions of Colorado and Utah. After years of searching for the right location, they found East Hawaii -- with its natural beauty, year around growing season, abundant variety of flora, and water supply (rain), along with the island lifestyle.
